本屆亞洲沙灘運動會的比賽日程豐富多元，涵蓋 14 個大項、15 個分項和 63 個小項，九天賽期共將產生 62 枚金牌。賽事項目既有經典的沙灘運動，也有新興的競技項目，滿足了不同族群的喜好。其中，公開水域游泳、水球、3×3 籃球、沙灘田徑、沙灘角力、龍舟、沙灘足球、沙灘手球、柔術、帆船、攀岩和藤球等項目備受關注。龍舟作為一項根植於亞洲文化的傳統水上運動，將成為賽事的一大亮點，而攀岩等新興項目則為賽事注入了新的活力，吸引了來自亞洲各地的年輕體育愛好者。
比賽場館沿三亞原始的自然海岸線策略性分布，主要集中在三亞灣。八個比賽場館群和一個訓練場館已全部完工並啟用。秉持「能改不建、能租不買」的永續理念，所有場館的設計都與三亞的海岸景觀完美融合，避免了不必要的建設浪費，並確保賽事結束後長期向民眾開放。多數賽事將在金色沙灘、清澈海水和繁茂熱帶植栽的映襯下舉行，運動員們將在與自然和諧共生的環境中競技，觀眾則能在欣賞頂級體育賽事的同時，沉浸於無與倫比的海濱風光之中。
本次運動會將迎來突破紀錄的參賽人數，約有來自數十個亞洲國家和地區的 1790 名運動員，包括泰國、菲律賓、印度、中國香港特別行政區等，齊聚三亞爭奪榮譽。中國代表團將派出一支由 174 名運動員組成的堅強陣容，參加多個項目的競逐，力圖展現中國沙灘運動的卓越水準。為確保運動會順利進行，超過 4700 名受過專業培訓的志工已準備就緒，將在語言支援、場館引導、運動員協助等領域提供周到專業的服務。運動員村配備完備的配套設施，包括自助洗衣房、健身中心和專屬的中醫診所，為所有參賽運動員提供舒適、便捷且獨具特色的居住體驗。

Nestled on the southern coast of China’s tropical Hainan Free Trade Port, Sanya, a world-renowned coastal tourist destination, is gearing up to welcome the spotlight of Asia as it hosts the much-anticipated 6th Asian Beach Games (ABG) from April 22 to 30, 2026. As a premier comprehensive beach sports event sanctioned by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), this nine-day sporting gala will gather the finest beach sports athletes from across the Asian continent, blending thrilling athletic competition with the breathtaking natural charm of Sanya. It aims to write a new chapter of unity, vitality and sportsmanship for Asian sports, while showcasing the unique allure of this coastal paradise to the global audience.
Since its inaugural edition in Bali, Indonesia in 2008, the Asian Beach Games has grown into one of the most influential multi-sport events in Asia, dedicated to promoting beach sports development, enhancing regional sports exchange and strengthening friendship among Asian countries. The 2026 Sanya ABG marks the second time that China has hosted this prestigious event, following the 2012 Haiyang Asian Beach Games, demonstrating China’s firm commitment to advancing Asian beach sports and international sports cooperation. Under the theme slogan “See Ya in Sanya”, which links “Asia” and “Sanya” while conveying a warm invitation, the Games will present a perfect fusion of competitive sports, tropical culture and international openness.
This edition of the Asian Beach Games boasts a rich and diverse competition schedule, featuring 14 major sports, 15 disciplines and 63 events, with a total of 62 gold medals up for grabs across the nine days. The sports lineup covers both classic beach sports and emerging competitive events, catering to diverse preferences. Featured sports include open water swimming, water polo, 3×3 basketball, beach athletics, beach wrestling, dragon boat racing, beach soccer, beach handball, ju-jitsu, sailing, sport climbing and teqball. Among these, dragon boat racing, a traditional water sport deeply rooted in Asian culture, will be a highlight event, while emerging sports like sport climbing will inject fresh vitality, attracting young sports enthusiasts from all over Asia.
The competition venues are strategically distributed along Sanya’s pristine natural coastline, mainly centered around Sanya Bay. Eight competition venue clusters and one training venue have been fully completed and ready for use. Adhering to the sustainable concept of “renovate rather than build, rent rather than buy”, all venues are designed to integrate seamlessly with Sanya’s coastal landscape, avoiding unnecessary construction waste and ensuring long-term public use after the Games. Most events will be staged against the backdrop of golden sandy beaches, clear blue waters and lush tropical vegetation, allowing athletes to compete in harmony with nature and spectators to enjoy world-class sports competitions while immersing themselves in the unparalleled coastal scenery.
The Games will welcome a record-breaking number of participants, with around 1,790 athletes from dozens of Asian countries and regions, including Thailand, the Philippines, India, China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and others, gathering in Sanya to compete for honors.
